"Steven crushed my spirit, and now, there's only one place I can turn to."
"Please, God, don't let it be me."

- Jackie & Donna

Jackie and Donna

Jackie and Donna would have never been friends, not in a million years. They weren't alike, they didn't dress alike, they didn't think alike, and initially, there was a whole lot of DISLIKE between the two. In fact, the only thing they had in common was the boys they liked.

Donna grew up as one of the guys, and when Jackie came into the group as Kelso's girlfriend, Donna was not pleased.

It came as a shocker, when Jackie decided to befriend Donna, not out of any real caring, but more out of the fact that Jackie has never been able to keep a secret, and when Donna had gossip, Jackie wanted it. Donna, realizing that no one in her group of all guys would really understand what was going on with her and Eric, decided to confide in Jackie.

What began then was a tentative friendship, as Jackie found herself investing in Donna and Eric's burgeoning relationship. When Donna began to ask Jackie for favors (ala Drive in) Jackie began to regard her as a friend, and as a result attempted to do the right thing and be a friend beside her, even if Donna didn't necessarily want the attention.

Donna's friendship with Jackie was cemented when Jackie had a pregnancy scare. Terrified with what it would mean, Donna went on the pill herself, and put Jackie on it as well, stating to the other girl that she would not let her ruin her life.

As Jackie's relationship with Kelso detoriated, Donna became Jackie's sole confidante regarding all matters of love, and Donna was furious when she disovered Kelso's philandering ways. When Jackie discovered the truth for herself, she continued to hang out in the basement, now having a reason besides Kelso to stay: mainly, her friendship with Donna, and her newfound infatuation for Hyde.

Through the years, the girls friendship has continually gotten closer, as the girls consult each other and remain friends despite the odds. Even so, the spark and fire is always there, and always amusing. Donna will always be there to stare in disbelief as Jackie spouts something too surreal to have really been said out loud, and Jackie will always be the one to set Donna straight about her lumber jack ways.

When Jackie's father went to jail and abandoned by her mother, she began to sleep with Hyde. When they were discovered, Donna, after some grudging resistance, offered to let Jackie live with her.

Recently Jackie's mother, back from Mexico, has been dating Bob Pinciotti and has moved into the Pinciotti household.

For better or worse Jackie and Donna have gone from barely friends to almost step-sisters.
